January 13-31, 2013 - Sarasota, Florida

I just finished "catching up" on our friends Duane and Debbie Rowe's blog, http://seeyawhenwegetthere.blogspot.com, which has inspired and motivated me to update our blog!  Their blog is fantastic...it read's like a "good book" and has the most amazing pictures from their "adventures"!  I aspire for ours to be as fun and informative someday!

Anyway, as you can see, it is now August 19, 2013 and we are in Asheville, NC.  It is raining so I am going to try to "catch up" with our "adventures" in the last 8 months!

Our last post was in January...it was a great winter in "sunny Florida"...mostly highs in the 70's and lows in the 60's...much like our beautiful springs and falls in South Carolina.  Sun-N-Fun RV Resort in Sarasota, Florida was so great, we have reservations for 3 months, instead of 2, next year!  Our friends, and next door neighbors in Irmo, Roger and Maria LaHaise, were originally going to spend January and February in Sarasota with us but, due to unforseen circumstances, had to delay their arrival until the end of January.  So, in the meantime, Glenn, "the girls", and I mainly relaxed and enjoyed the resort, with a few "excursions" in the Sarasota area and the RV Show in Tampa...one of the largest, if not the largest, in the nation...fun!  We've never seen so many 2+ million dollar motor homes in one place!!!

Homecoming Week Festivities
The theme was Movies, Movies, Movies and so many activities were planned!  The parade was a "hoot" as you can see from some of the pictures!

Tampa RV Show

Did I say BIG!!!

We had to take our shoes off for some of these 2+ million dollar motorhomes!

And then, on January 28th Roger and Maria arrived!!!  Yeah!!!

Can you tell the "girls" were happy too!!!

The "Sounds of Soul" were great and we met the nicest couple, Joe and Ruth Grzenda, from Pennsylvania.  Joe was a former major league pitcher and pitched the last ball for the Washington Senators in 1972.  Then he handed President George W. Bush the same baseball in 2004 at the first game of the Washington Nationals.

Next Post...February in Florida...more Sun-N-Fun and more "adventures"!
