July 24, 2012 - Southwest Harbor - Bar Harbor, Maine

It rained off and on all day so we decided to take a leisurely drive down Route 102 through Somesville, Pretty Marsh, and Bass Harbor to Southwest Harbor.  Route 102 is considered the "road less traveled" when visiting Mount Desert Island, and the best way to explore the "gems of the Quietside" for those looking for a different rhythm to the "hustle of town living".  We loved seeing the quaint towns, villages, and lobster wharves.  We ended the day in Bar Harbor at Sherman's Book Store, the oldest book store in Maine, and sitting on a park bench eating ice cream and watching the world go by!  Loved it!

And last, but not least, beautiful sunset pictures from the campground.  Spectacular!!!
