July 3, 2012- Burlington, VT

Wow!  What a fun day!  The weather was beautiful and the high temperature was 82.  We first went to the Ethan Allen Homestead Museum but, unfortunately, it is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  We were still able to walk the grounds and a short trail...but not the museum. No problem... I just took a few pictures through the window!

Next stop...Waterfront Park on Lake Champlain where they were setting up for the July 4th festivities which started this afternoon.  We could see the beach area and campground from Waterfront Park so we knew we would be able to see the fireworks without going to the Park.  It's beautiful and we took some great pictures!

Then on to Church Street Marketplace, just blocks away from Waterfront Park in the heart of downtown Burlington.  It is a fantastic four-block pedestrian open-air mall with over a hundred upscale boutiques, funky homegrown stores, art galleries, and national retailers, all with breathtaking historical architecture.  This "adventure" was great fun for us...we do love shopping and outdoor malls!   And we understand why this one is "award winning"!

Tonight we watched the spectacular July 4th fireworks show from the beach!  Once again, the weather was perfect, as was the evening on the beach!

The only drawback to this fun and busy day is that it is late and I am tired so I am not going to post any pictures other than the links to our photo albums.  So here goes.....
