June 30, 2012 - Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain, NY

Our "adventure" today was to browse the downtown area and to see some of the Olympic sites.  It was a beautiful day, as you can see in the pictures, with a high temperature of 80...perfect for the mountains!  It is such a beautiful area and one we definitely want to come back to!  As always, the mountains make me think of my mother.  Even though I grew up at the beach I always remember her saying that she missed the mountains. The older I get the more I understand.....

We are looking forward to hiking tomorrow!  They are calling for sunshine and a high of 75, so it should be perfect weather for some really good pictures!
