Day 116 - September 28, 2011 - Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

We left Nashville this morning and had a great drive to Pigeon Forge.  Believe it or not, we have never been here!  We have come close and actually made it to Sevierville once but the traffic was so bad we turned around and headed back to I-40!  It definitely is a family vacation spot with something for everybody!  We have named it "the Myrtle Beach of the Mountains"!

We are here for 2 reasons...it is a good stopping place between Nashville and Irmo and, since our focus this trip was to visit national parks, we want to go to America's most visited National Park, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

A bonus of this stop was that we got to see Glenn's sister, Rhonda, and her husband Rick again!  They drove from Knoxville to meet us for dinner, which particularly meant a lot to us since they both worked today!  The gesture was also special to us since they met us for dinner in Clinton, Tennessee, the first stop of our big "adventure" in June, and met us tonight during the last stop of  our "adventure"!  It just felt right to come full circle with them!  Love you guys!!!!!
