June 13, 2012 - Shenandoah National Park - Hawksbill Mountain Trail

What an awesome day this was, beginning with a fabulous breakfast at Skyland, overlooking the Shenandoah Valley!  We went back to Shenandoah National Park one more time...to hike to the summit of Hawksbill Mountain, the highest peak in the park at 4,051 feet.  A portion of the trail was part of the Appalachian trail...a great trail and we had the most perfect weather for a hike!  After the hike we went back to Big Meadows for some of their "famous blackberry ice cream"...yum!

Here's some pictures from our "adventure"!

We looked for Mark...to no avail!

Trail splits here...Appalachian Trail to the right, Hawksbill Trail to the left.

Tomorrow we head to Harpers Ferry, WV.  Really looking forward to seeing Mike and Denyse Sundall again!
