June 28, 2012 - Sackets Harbor/Henderson Harbor, NY

It was a beautiful day so we decided to drive around Lake Ontario to the Village of Sackets Harbor,  in NY.  Sackets Harbor played an important strategic role in the War of 1812 in defending America's northern frontier.  It was a thriving port of trade in the 19th century and today is "one of New York State's most picturesque and architecturally facscinating Heritage Areas".  We loved it!  It is definitely the kind of place to spend the summer, with the lake and wonderful shops, restaurants, and outdoor activities available, not to mention the 75 degree temperature we had today while it was 100+ in the south!  And the people were so nice...everywhere!  Did I mention that it was a great day, until.....

While we were at lunch I pulled out my phone to see what the temperature was and it had a strange screen on it...then "do you want English or Spanish".  I took the battery out to reset it...same thing.  I didn't let it ruin my day but was a little frustrated that I would eventually have to call Verizon again.  I waited until we got home and spent around 1 1/2 hours on Glenn's "outdated flip phone" with Verizon setting my phone up again (part of the time was on hold waiting for a customer service representative to help me).  Then, all of my contacts were missing as well as the apps I have added since I got the phone!  My contact list eventually came back after I set up my gmail and hotmail accounts but I am having to reinstall the apps.  Anyway, that set me behind a day again posting the blog...so what's new!

Here's a few pictures and then you can click on the links for the rest of them.

Well, I guess I got carried away!  Here's the two links for the rest of the pictures.

Sorry about the phone problems. Glad you didn't let it ruin your day though.
