Denyse waving "hello" to her South Carolina buddies!!!
We loved Shepherdstown yesterday but, unfortunately, did not have time to stop. And guess what! Mike and Denyse said they were going to take us to Shepherdstown for lunch! What a great restaurant and great food!
The Little House...a fascinating story, too long for me to write here! Professor Florence "hands-on-experience" at teaching. The "typical farm house of the Shenandoah Valley" was built in 1928 by fifth and sixth grade students as a "summer school project" It is the "nation's smallest house"...10 feet high, nine by six feet long and side and two full stories, and decorated inside as if a family lived there!
Time to work off that lunch and do a little shopping!
Next stop...Rumsey Park and an amazing view of the Potomac River! James Rumsey invented the first steamboat.
And last, but not least, a visit to Nutter's Ice Cream in Sharpsburg, MD. Wow, was it good!!!
Notice the cannonball hole in the side of the house. Remnants of the Civil War.
We were sure glad we weren't driving the motorhome across this bridge!!!
We saw lots and lots of deer but, unfortunately, my pictures were too blurry. Mike and Denyse said they come up to their windows all the time!
