August 15, 2012 - Salem, Mass.

Today was not as great a day as we thought it would be but it was still good.  We woke up to rain with a forecast of rain and thunderstorms all day, but the rain cleared up by the time we left the motorhome and the sun came out! Yeah!

We went back to Salem to go through the Peabody Essex Museum and, specifically, the Yin Yu Tang 200 year old Chinese House and the Ansel Adams Photography Exhibit "At The Water's Edge".  Of course, photos were prohibited in both exhibits.  While the museum was good, we were a little let down after going through Boston's Museum of Fine Arts Saturday.  Maybe our expectations were a little unrealistic!  You think???

Then we went through "Salem's Most Visited Museum", the Salem Witch Museum, where we experienced all the historical stories surrounding Salem's 1692 witch trials through an interactive tour.  Let's just say that we are now "thoroughly witched out" and it's time to move on!

It was a fun day and we laughed alot...imagine that!  We wrapped it up with a movie and laughed some more!

It's late and we are going to Marblehead tomorrow so I'm just going to attach the links to today's pictures.

  1. Maybe you are experiencing "museum overload"? But this comes from someone who almost never looks for a museum on our travels, so what do I know? Have a great day in Marblehead!
