August 6, 2012 - Gloucester, Massachusetts

We had a lot of fun touring Gloucester today.  It is America's Oldest Seaport, established in 1623, and continues to be an important center of the fishing industry as well as a popular summer destination.  Gloucester is also the home of the real "perfect storm", as well as the location of the movie, The Perfect Storm. It was a beautiful day, perfect for a day of sightseeing in a quaint, historical fishing village.  Another fun thing about being here...Jack and Pam, my brother and sister-in-law, lived and worked in Gloucester the summer after they got married before Jack started dental school at UNC in 1971. It is so much fun seeing where they lived and worked and experiencing some of the fun things they did! Just makes our adventure that much more fun!

After a full day getting "the lay of the land", we headed home to relax and watch the sun set over the marsh.  Did I say a "great day"?  Yeah I did.....
