August 5, 2012 -Gloucester, Cape Ann, Massachusetts

Oh my...I'm getting caught up!!!  We left Maine today...loved every minute of being there...and have now "moved on" to Massachusetts.  We arrived at Cape Ann Campground at a perfect time...before lots of other RV's...which meant we got a great campsite with a beautiful view instead of being back in the woods.  Not that we have a problem with being in the woods...it's just we love having a view overlooking water.  This is a very rustic campground...family owned and operated since 1949, and "established around nature, not over it".  The owners/operators are so nice and very accommodating...really rare qualities in this day and age!  There's only one drawback...no TV reception!  Ordinarily, this would not be a problem but we have really been enjoying the Olympics!  Most campgrounds have cable now and if they don't our antenna easily picks up the major networks.  But not here!   Anyway, we will miss the Olympics at night but at least we can keep up with the games on the internet...our Verizon "My-5" is  working!  Go figure!

After we got set up we drove the 1 mile to Wingaersheek Beach, one of the North Shore's most popular beaches and took some pictures.  We think we are really going to like it here (even if we can't watch the Olympics)!

Once again, in the interest of time, I'm just going to attach the link to today's pictures.  And now I'm caught up...again...until next time!

  1. Love those "mom and pop" campgrounds. This one looks like fun! Sorry about the TV. Much as I hate to admit it, we'd miss it at times too!
