Day 84 - August 27, 2011 - Kanab, Utah

We spent the day at Zion National Park and it was great...so much fun that we didn't leave until dark and got back to the motor home around 10:00!  Are we tired?  Yes!

Enroute to Zion Canyon we went through two tunnels, one more than a mile long, and experienced some of the most magnificant views ever!  Zion truly is one of the most scenic national parks in the country, characterized by high plateaus, a maze of narrow, deep sandstone canyons and striking rock towers and mesas.

While we wanted to hike all of the trails, physically and timewise it was impossible, but we did get in a few as part of the 8 miles we walked!  Hugh and Emily, you have our utmost respect for hiking Angels Landing!  After reading that "Angels Landing is a destination for those of strong body and nerve (and some might even say faith)", and "to get there, you must hike a route with steep drop-offs on both sides, which is definitely not for small children or those with a fear of heights", we decided we would have to save that hike for another trip! What can I say!

I said before that Glenn is THE MAN you want driving you in this country.  It was dark when we drove out of the canyon...an experience all by itself!  Alll in all, it was a wonderful, beautiful day...and the daily thunderstorms held off until about an hour after we got home!
