Well, we finally left Utah today. What a beautiful state...hope to visit it again to see all the things we didn't have a chance to see this trip.
We only had a 40 mile drive to get to our campground in Kaibab, Arizona. It's not really a town. It's a National Forest and is the closest campground with full hook-up (electricity/water/sewer) to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We do have cell phone service and our Verizon "five-spot" is working...at least right now! We are getting "zero" tv reception...so it will be a new experience for us to go to sleep without the TV on! And during the day while we are at the Grand Canyon the "girls" will have to miss their favorite TV shows and just be happy listening to music on my IPOD! Anyway, it's very rustic and peaceful here, which we love! Our neighbors next door, Randy and Dawn from Denver, are super nice and we really enjoyed visiting with them tonight. They leave tomorrow for Sedona so we will hate to see them go. We "gained" an extra hour today (we are now 3 hours behind SC time) and it was dark at 7:30! During our whole trip it hasn't gotten dark until 9 or 10 each night (depending on where we were). We obviously will have to schedule our "adventures" better so that we get home before dark, which means before 7:30 instead of 9 or 9:30!
We will get up early tomorrow to head to the North Rim. After going to the Visitor's Center today we already know that it will be hard to do all that we want to do in the two days we will be here!
