July 5, 2012 - St. Johnsbury, VT

What a beautiful drive from Burlington to St. Johnsbury!     But, once again, Glenn's THE MAN!  Construction on narrow 2 lane roads, mountains, curves, lots of bridges...and he's cool as a cucumber!  We love the Vermont countryside, the small towns, the historic homes and buildings and...yes...the barns!  St. Johnsbury has such beautiful and historic buildings!  It was chartered in 1786, is the largest town, by population, in the Northeast Kingdom, and serves as the commercial center for the area.  Moose River campground is great and the owners, Mary and Gary are so warm and personable...the kind of people you feel like you have known forever!  I almost hate to mention the weather but, it's perfect...sunshine and highs in the high 70's and low 80's!

After we got settled we went to a "mom and pop" restaurant by the river for some home cooked food.

And then went to downtown St. Johnsbury to get a closer look at some of the historic buildings.
