July 8, 2012 - St. Johnsbury, VT

Being dog lovers, we had to go to "Dog Mountain" and the "Dog Chapel" before we left St. Johnsbury.  World renowned artist and author Stephen Huneck created Dog Mountain so people can experience his artwork and share his passion for nature.  A 150-acre dog park, it is free and open to the public and their dogs, with trails, forests, and a swimming pond.  He built a classic Vermont chapel, the Dog Chapel, dedicated to the memories of lost pets.  Stephen Huneck died in 2010, however, his wife Gwen continues his legacy...a heartwarming and unique experience.

First opened in 1891, Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium is filled with an eclectic mix of history and nature exhibits, many from Franklin Fairbanks' original collection.  It was fun and interesting and had probably the most lifelike wildlife exhibits that we have ever seen!

An early dinner on the river was a great ending to a great day!
