Leaving Interior, SD and Badlands National Park and entering the Black Hills of South Dakota...Beautiful!!! I was so in awe of the scenery, I forgot to take pictures of the signs as we entered Rapid City, Hill City, and Custer! Duh...
This woman was so helpful at the KOA in Interior, SD. She and her husband used to own the campground and drove down from the Black Hills for July 4th weekend to help! It truly was one of the nicest and well-maintained campgrounds...maybe even the best that we have stayed in! She also gave us some pointers on where to go in the Black Hills...like Alpine Restaurant in Hill City for great food and fabulous desserts!
One more stop at the "Badlands" Visitor Center.
Hill City, SD...we passed Alpine Restaurant but I wasn't fast enough to get a picture. It's close to Custer so we plan to eat there sometime this week.
Entering Custer, South Dakota.
Our "home" for 5 nights...Beaver Lake Campground! Love it too and the owners and staff are wonderful! Lots of amenities but one we haven't seen before...they have bike racks all over the campground filled with bikes for people to borrow! All they ask is that you take care of them and return them! Nice!
We decided to go and get a steak...really good...and then just walked a little around town!
First impressions are always important, and we instantly knew that we were going to like it here!
