Day 17 - Munising MI

We left Mackinaw Island this morning and took our last bridge pictures.  I know some of you are sad that I won't be posting anymore pictures of the Mackinaw Bridge!  It was definitely more stressful going over the bridge in the motorhome pulling the jeep than it was driving the jeep the other day!  Maybe not for Glenn, but it was for me!  We stopped for gas and then drove Highway 2, which borders Lake Michigan, for most of the way to Munising. Really pretty, even though it was cloudy.  And then the rain came and came and came and is still coming!  And from what the weather reports are saying, it will be raining for several days!  Bummer! But we're not complaining!  We have had amazing weather so far...and we're not sweating!  It is 61 degrees right now and is not going to get much warmer until the end of the week.

Anyway, we arrived at the campground and love it!  We already knew we would like the owners after our correspondence with them when making reservations, and then again when we changed our reservations after we decided to stay in Mackinaw City several extra days.  We were greeted with enthusiasm by Pam and she told us about some of the "must sees" here.  After setting up at the campsite (did I ever mention that it only takes 15 minutes...basically pushing buttons for the slide-outs and levelers...oh yeah...and Glenn does have to hook up the water and plug the motorhome in!), we decided to spend the day planning the rest of our trip...or at least as far as South Dakota, uploading pictures from the last few days for the blog (which is taking a long time between slow internet and size of pictures...we're almost finished and ready to post them), make phone calls, and answer emails.  It was a nice change of pace. And we ate the smoked fish we bought yesterday...delish!
