Day 23 - Green Bay, Wisconsin

Go Gamecocks!!!

What a game!!!!!  Now that I have gotten that out of my system, what a beautiful evening and another fun day! And I just posted the pictures from yesterday (Day 22) so you may want to go back and view them!

We started the day at the laundromat!  I know...too exciting!   Even though we have a washer-dryer combo in the motor home, it only does small loads so when I am doing sheets, blankets, etc. I like to go to the laundromat.  Actually, I enjoy it because I get all the clothes done at one time and read while I am there. This was a very nice and very clean one and the manager there was so nice!  That has really been our experience in Green Bay.  Everything is so clean and the people are so nice!

We left there and went to the Titletown Brewing Company.  It was the old train station and is on the National Historic Register.  Loved it and loved the food!  I was taking pictures (imagine that) and the president/owner started taking me around to point out items of historical value that he thought I would want pictures of!  Then, before we left, he said "I wish you could meet the mayor"!  And I said "we did" and told him about being at the courthouse yesterday and the mayor riding up on his bike.  Come to find out, he is good friends with the mayor and lives in the same neighborhood in the historic part of downtown Green Bay.  Talk about nice people...we love this town!

We went back to Neville Museum, since we didn't get to see all of it yesterday.  It's right across the street from Titletown Brewing Company. We enjoyed it even more "the second time around"!

And we finally made it to a cheese factory!  And bought some cheese and had homemade ice cream!  Yum Yum!

Then we came back to the motor home and CRASHED!  We've got to work on our pace...staying up late and trying to get as much in as possible every day is wearing on these old bodies!  We both fell asleep (Glenn on the sofa watching TV and me in the recliner on the computer) and woke up about 8:00!  Then we made reservations in Rochester, Sioux Falls and Wall (for the Badlands)...not an easy thing to do since this weekend is July 4th!  But we did it and think we have really good sites at good campgrounds with full hook-up, cable (so we can watch the Gamecocks!) and Wi-Fi.

I mentioned yesterday that we stayed up late routing out the rest of our trip.  Right now (and, of course, always subject to change!) we will leave for Rochester MN tomorrow for 2 nights; Sioux Falls SD for 3 nights; Wall SD for 3 nights; Custer SD for 3 nights; Spearfish (where Duane and Debbie are) for 3 nights; Medora ND 2 nights; Billings, Montana 3 nights; Cody, Wyoming 2 nights; Jackson, Wyoming 2 nights; Kemmerer, Wyoming 2 nights; Bear River City Park, Utah 2 nights; Salt Lake City, Utah 4 nights; Moab, Utah 2 nights; Escalante, Utah 2 nights; Leeds, Utah 2 nights; Flagstaff, Arizona 5 nights; Albuquerque, NM 3 nights; Amarillo TX 3 nights; Oklahoma City OK 3 nights; Hot Springs, Arkansas 3 nights; Memphis TN 3 nights; Nashville TN 3 nights; Pigeon Forge TN 3 nights and arrive in Irmo around August 30.  Whew.....

Now, back to Green Bay...we are now "real" Green Bay Packer fans.  This has been such a great experience!  With the community as "Owners of the Packers" everyone has a vested interest, and it shows!  It's a city that has a "small town" atmosphere and everyone works hard to make it a great place to live and visit!  Go Titletown...need I say more!

If Rochester is half as good as Green Bay we will have another "great adventure"!  Stay tuned.....
